Books, ideas and authors that shaped much of my thinking. I cannot list them all here, please see the recommended reading list published inside the book or on this blog.

Below you will find links to pages of books I found to be either the most practical, inspirational or thought provoking.

Everyone is influenced by great thinkers, I hope I can share with you the sources of my inspiration and learning, while at the same time acknowledge the significant contribution of these authors and individuals who have provided encouragement and mentoring over the years.

The Influential book section contains recommended reading. I am often asked to recommend books on the subject of business improvement, this can be difficult because the reader is usually looking to satisfy a particular need, either leadership studies, general practical advice and guidance, new breakthrough ideas or simply some new techniques and analysis tools. I have devised a scale that will hopefully help people choose the book they need. The book ratings are personal and show the type of information they contain.

I am currently compiling a list of new publications which have influenced my thinking since the publication of Sense and Respond in 2005.

Ratings indicate how much coverage there is in a particular area, one is Low coverage while five is High.
