The Machine that changed the world
Rawson Associates
ISBN 0 89256 350 8
This book contains all the seeds of the Lean Production Ideas. A must for the serious Lean Practitioner. This is the most influential book on the subject. However it needs a great deal of study and deep understanding to transfer the ideas from manufacturing to services.
Acknowledgements: I would like to thank Dan Jones and Jim Womack for providing both encouragement and mentoring in the difficult journey to transfer lean ideas from manufacturing to services. They provided practical and generous support to me through speaking events, articles and references in their book, Lean Solutions.

ISBN: 1563272997
It is not often I come across a book that has something new to say on the subject of Lean and change strategy. The fact that this book is in the Influential section rather than the normal book review is testimony to the depth of practical ideas contained within its pages.
This is a practical, usable and insightful book on the subject of creating a lean enterprise. Its simply the best book on lean strategy and deployment you can buy. I keep this book close at hand. I absolutely love this book.
